Polish libero Maria Stenzel put together one of the best passing performances we’ve seen from a libero in recent memory in Poland’s 3-0 win against Bulgaria. In her 28 passes, she had an unbelievable 93% positive reception rate with 0 errors. This was while she was covering much of the court for Magdelena Stysiak, who is hidden in many of Poland’s rotations.

She also had many rally-lengthening defensive plays in the second set that allowed Poland to take that pivotal set. Her play from the libero position helped initiate a powerful Polish offense that hit 41% on the match.

“I think the first set was really hard for us because we were very stressed. This tournament is very hard; everyone is a good opponent. We came back, it’s good for us, we pushed with emotions in the 1st set, and the other sets went our way.”

An incredible number when you consider how much of the court she covers on service reception.
